Zihtec's Safe Chat is a Web protection product that prevents kids from communicating with strangers before they begin. Its latest version, SafeChat 2.3, now allows parent-controlled blocking of pornographic and other offensive Web content. All of these capabilities are done in real time. Parents select specific key words and phrases automatically censoring the child's online communications. These can include an address, phone number and school information as well as offensive language in both incoming and outgoing messages. Safe Chat can also thwart peer-to-peer file sharing through networks like Neo-Napster, LimeWire, eMule and Morpheus. The software also includes features to prevent anyone from bypassing or hacking the controls.
