GovX Announces National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund as September's Recipient of Mission Giveback Donation Program

Sept. 21, 2017
The non-profit commemorates the service and sacrifice of American law enforcement officers.

GovX, the online shopping site exclusively for current and former military and first responders, selected the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund as September's recipient of the Mission Giveback donation program. Each month, GovX chooses a service-related organization performing work in the military, first responder, or law enforcement communities, and donates a portion of proceeds from orders placed during the given month. At the end of September, GovX will donate a minimum of $5,000 to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial located in Washington DC honors more than 21,000 officers who have died in the line of duty throughout the nation's history. The organization's mission is to tell the story of American law enforcement and make it safer for those who serve. The Memorial Fund also provides information that promotes law enforcement on-the-job safety. The organization is now focusing efforts on building the National Law Enforcement Museum directly across the street from the Memorial. When it opens in the fall of 2018, it will provide visitors an immersive “walk in the shoes” experience of what it’s like to serve in law enforcement.

"We're incredibly appreciative of the services and sacrifices our nation's law enforcement officers make every day," said Alan Cole, GovX CEO. "Supporting the mission of the Memorial Fund is a special privilege, especially to many of our staff members who have law enforcement professionals in their families."

The Memorial Fund also partners with agencies and groups dedicated to saving the lives of officers by focusing on safety programs and training. One such example is Destination Zero, a program designed to help departments improve the safety and health of officers through wellness programs that aim to reduce line-of-duty injuries

The Memorial Fund maintains a comprehensive fatality database, which publishes regular fatality reports examining trends and issues in officer fatalities. The website includes a searchable database of officers killed in the line of duty.

Visitors to the Memorial Fund website can take a virtual 360-degree tour of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and get a virtual peek into the upcoming National Law Enforcement Museum.
