Newly released body camera footage shows NYPD officers rescuing eight passengers aboard a seaplane that made a hard landing over the weekend.

The incident happened shortly after noon Sunday when the plane made an emergency landing in the East River near the NY Skyport, according to NYPD bodycam footage posted to social media by Commissioner Jessica Tisch. The department's Harbor Unit responded to the landing and began helping the passengers off the plane and onto a watercraft.

"Whether it's on land, in the air, or on the water, the NYPD is there for every emergency," Tisch stated.

None of the passengers were seriously injured in the landing.
