A man was in custody Thursday afternoon after he pushed a Washington State Patrol lieutenant on I-5 in Seattle and stole her vehicle, authorities said.
The vehicle was stolen on I-5 near North 85th Street before 12:30 p.m., after the lieutenant, who was responding to a report of a pedestrian running across the highway, approached the man, Trooper Rick Johnson said.
The pedestrian pushed the lieutenant down and made off with her vehicle, Johnson said.
Several agencies responded and pursued the vehicle for about 15 to 20 minutes, Johnson said, stopping the car in Lynnwood.
No injuries were reported, he said.
