Video: Ariz. Troopers End Stolen Van Chase with PIT Maneuver

One person was taken into custody after Tempe police and Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers were involved in a stolen van pursuit that ended with a crash in Phoenix.

Arizona troopers used a PIT maneuver to end an interstate chase involving a stolen van Monday.

The incident happened shortly before 1 p.m. when Tempe police received a call concerning a stolen van, KNXV-TV reports. According to authorities, an individual had taken the van while the vehicle was unoccupied and  still running.

Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers then caught up with the van as it headed north on Interstate 17 in Phoenix. A chase began, and it was captured by traffic cameras.

Police eventually closed in on the van, with a state trooper initiating a PIT maneuver. Once contact was made, the van's driver lost control, and the vehilce flipped over.

One person was taken into custody by Tempe police following the crash.
