A stolen Jeep went airborne and crashed into several cars at a dealership during a chase with Milwaukee police Wednesday, injuring five people.
The incident began just after 1:30 p.m. when a Milwaukee police officer spotted an SUV that had been reported stolen in an armed robbery, WITI-TV reports. The officer tried to pull over the vehicle, but the teenage driver wouldn't stop.
As they tried to evade police, the driver of the stolen Jeep and two passengers live-streamed the chase on social media. Finally, the SUV struck a car and a fire hydrant before flying through the air, flipping and landing on several vehicles in the lot of Hart Auto.
The driver, 17, was arrested and taken to the hospital with the two passengers. Two drivers of other vehicles also were injured.
Police recovered a firearm at the scene. Charges are pending in connection with the incident.
