A Miami Beach police officer in an accident was helped by two good Samaritans early Sunday.
The incident happened shortly after 4:30 a.m. along South Beach, WSVN-TV reports. A police officer on an all-terrain vehicle was responding to a call when he collided with a Corvette that wouldn't yield.
“I saw him fly in the air, over the hood, and land and roll off the hood, into the curb and everything,” said Michael Lane, one of the bystanders to help the officer.
Lane and David Kelley—both Army veteran—rushed to see if the officer was seriously injured.
“He was OK," Kelley said. "He wasn’t bleeding too heavy, so at that time, all the officers responded to the scene, and they treated him from there, so I pulled off to the side."
The officer was taken to the hospital, and he was treated and released.
The Corvette's driver was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license.
