Detroit police officers were injured Sunday after a hit-and-run driver crashed into their patrol vehicle on the city's east side, officials said.
They said the officers suffered injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
The crash happened at about 5 p.m., police said.
According to a preliminary investigation, the officers' vehicle was traveling in the area of Mack Avenue and Cadieux Road when it was struck by another car.
The second vehicle's driver then drove off from the scene, authorities said.
Officials said they are not releasing any further information at this time.
Michigan State Police last week reported 3,138 people were seriously injured and 573 died on state roadways so far this year.
Compared to the same time in 2024, there were 15 fewer fatalities and 31 fewer serious injuries, according to MSP.
