A Parker County sheriff's deputy was injured Sunday night when her vehicle was involved in a collision with another vehicle north of Weatherford.
The accident occurred about 8:30 p.m. Sunday as Sheriff's Patrol Sgt. Kim Cooper, who was on duty, was driving a marked patrol unit and returning to the sheriff's office.
Cooper suffered a broken leg in the wreck which occurred on Highway 51 North of Weatherford. Cooper was pinned briefly in the patrol car and then flown to a Fort Worth hospital, according to a Parker County sheriff's office news release. Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said Monday morning she suffered a broken leg and is expected to make a full recovery.
"She is a very strong individual," Fowler said. "The entire department is pulling for her. At this time, we are very hopeful for a full recovery and are praying for her and her family."
No other details about the accident were immediately available. It is being investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Cooper has been with the Parker County Sheriff's office since 2005.
