Responding Virginia Police Officer Struck by Vehicle

A Henrico County police officer was struck by a vehicle and injured while responding to a call.

Henrico County police say an officer was struck by a vehicle and injured while responding to a call.

Lt. Linda N. Toney said the officer was hospitalized in stable condition with injuries that are serious but not life-threatening. The officer is expected to fully recover, Toney said.

Toney said the incident occurred at 11 p.m. Saturday as the uniformed officer was responding to a report of a loud party and was walking across the 9100 block of Derbyshire Road.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene of the accident, which remains under investigation.

No charges have been filed.
