Three Euclid police officers pulled a man from burning truck on March 23, and the rescue was caught on tape.
The officers responded to Babbitt Road after a witness called 911 shortly before 11 a.m., according to WKYC-TV.
Officials said the victim was driving a pickup truck when he crossed the yellow line, hit a light pole and then when back across the road before coming to a rest next to a brick building.
The officers arrived on the scene before firefighters and saw smoke engulfing the vehicle with rapidly growing flames.
Officers Jose Alcantara, Adam Beese and Corey Screngi used their batons to break the windows on the pickup cab, releasing the smoke.
One of the officers ran to the driver's side and used a knife to cut the seat belt, freeing the unresponsive driver.
The officers then dragged the man to safety as firefighters arrived to put out the blaze.
The victim was transported to Hillcrest Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation and has since been released.
None of the officers were injured in the rescue.
The incident was captured on a camera the department is testing out that clips onto an officer's glasses.
