Man Arrested After Okla. High-Speed Pursuit

The suspect reportedly sped from officers, exiting and re-entering the highway, reaching speeds in excess of 95 mph.

A man was arrested Monday morning after a high-speed chase that ended in a lockdown of Tulsa Community College's Southeast Campus, authorities said.

Officers pulled over Quvondo Vance Maurice Hunt, 22, on U.S. 169 between the 41st and 51st street exits for a traffic stop Monday morning, according to the arrest report.

Police ordered Hunt to exit the Chevrolet Tahoe he was driving after Hunt refused to sign citations for speeding, unsafe lane change and no proof of insurance, the report said.

Hunt then reportedly sped from the scene, exiting and re-entering the highway, reaching speeds in excess of 95 mph, according to the report.

He exited the highway at 81st Street and jumped from his vehicle in the TCC parking lot before fleeing into the college's library where officers, assisted by campus security, arrested him at 9:51 a.m., police said.

The campus, at 10300 E. 81st St., was locked down for about 10 minutes, TCC spokeswoman Leah Harper said. No one was injured, and no property was damaged, she said.

Hunt is being held at Tulsa Jail on the traffic complaints, as well as eluding police and resisting arrest. Bond is set at $16,000.
