Oklahoma High-Speed Police Pursuit Ends in Arrest
EDMOND, Okla. -- A 19-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday after a high-speed pursuit, police said.
An Edmond police officer tried to stop a sport utility vehicle with a headlight out at Second Street and Vista Lane about 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
The driver drove between 90 mph and 110 mph before law officers used stop sticks to puncture the vehicle's tires, ending the chase just east of Western Avenue on Waterloo Road, police spokeswoman Glynda Chu said.
The driver ran several red lights, Chu said.
Police arrested Riley Rhinehart, of Edmond, on complaints of eluding an officer, obstructing an officer and driving under suspension. He was booked at the Edmond jail and then taken to the Oklahoma County jail. He suffered minor injuries when his vehicle wrecked, police said.
