Integrated Microwave Technologies, LLC (IMT) showcased a video downlink equipped squad car, built around the Ford Crown Victoria chassis, at Police Security Expo 2011.
With the introduction of the in-car downlink system, IMT can now provide seamless integration for video situational awareness into any first responder vehicles (police, fire, emergency) and turn them into surveillance and command centers.
An important feature of the video downlink system is that it can be integrated into a squad car or first responder vehicles’ existing laptop infrastructure. There are no hardware or software modifications required and there is no interference with the existing computer set-up.
At the system's core is IMT's specially designed ruggedized Mobile Tactical Receiver dual offering exceptional RF performance combined with high ease of operation. These features are combined in a durable weather resistant package delivering unequaled value in a high-quality COFDM receiver.
In addition, the receiver also features an Ethernet port for streaming video over IP to local or remote software or hardware decoders. This allows many remote viewers, in addition to the first responder vehicle, to be able to monitor the same video simultaneously, increasing situational awareness.
