Defend-X door panels have revolutionized and expanded the vehicle's tactical role in the field. Defend-X vehicle door panels provide a ballistic-resistant and blast-mitigating shield behind which law enforcement officers can take cover during a life-threatening encounter. The panels can be installed easily in existing vehicles as well as during the manufacturing process. The Level III-A ballistic-resistant vehicle door panels are less than 1/2-inch thick and weigh less than 20 pounds per door. Threat Level III and IV applications available upon request.
Our innovative patent pending system consists of a specially designed bolt-in bracket that can accommodate different levels of ballistic protective Defend-X® Hard Armor panels (Level IIIA & Level III) utilizing the same bracket design. The panel and bracket bolt onto the door structure surface underneath the inside panel trim. The installation requires no modification to the factory door structure with only minor rerouting of door control electrical wiring harnesses. The factory Inner door handle and window control panel re-install on to the ballistic panel and replacement inside trim panel.The installation is completed with an after market inside door trim designed to accommodate the ballistic panel. The only difference to the end user is the elimination of the map pocket and door speaker.
The Defend-X® Ballistic Door Panel Systems can be reinstalled into another vehicle of the same make and model and comes with a 5 year ballistic warranty. Currently available for the Dodge Charger and Chevy Impala. SUV Models currently in development: Chevy Tahoe, Ford Explorer, Dodge Durango
