A 26-year-old Canton woman allegedly led Royal Oak police on an early Nov. 9 chase that ended when her SUV crashed into an Ulta Beauty store and rammed a patrol car.

Police said the woman fled a traffic stop involving an open alcohol container and continued driving after the crash before being arrested inside the store.

The woman, suspected of driving under the influence, faces multiple felony charges including fleeing police, assaulting officers and property destruction.
Patterson allegedly led police on a chase before crashing into an Ulta Beauty store on Woodward Avenue.
Despite the crash, Patterson continued to flee, ramming a patrol car and causing further damage inside the store before her vehicle got stuck.
“We are extremely fortunate this suspect did not seriously injure or kill our officers, herself, her passenger, or anyone else during this reckless incident,” Police Chief Michael Moore said in a statement.
Patterson was arrested at the scene, while a male passenger was cited for open alcohol and released, according to the release from the Royal Oak Police Department.
Patterson is suspected of driving under the influence, according to the release.
She was arraigned on Nov. 10 and faces the following charges: fleeing police, assault/resisting police, two counts of felonious assault, malicious destruction of a building and malicious destruction of personal and police property.
Patterson will return to 44th District Court on Nov. 21. Her bond was set at $50,000.
