Wisconsin police chased down a limo driver who tried to flee on foot after leading officers in a high-speed pursuit that ended when he blew past a school bus with its lights flashing and crashed onto the shoulder.
The chase began at about 3:3o p.m. Monday when a Pleasant Prairie police officer saw a limousine traveling well below the speed limit, WISN-TV reports. As the officer began following the vehicle, the driver then started accelerating, reaching speeds of over 20 miles over the limit.
During the pursuit, the driver began passing other vehicles on the shoulder, in one case, driving around a school bus with its lights flashing. That led to the limo crashing off the road, and the driver exited the vehicle.
Body camera footage captured officers and a K-9 tracking the suspect through heavily wooded area. He finally was apprehended by police, and officers discovered methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia inside the limo. The suspect faces multiple felonies, and he also was wanted on multiple warrants.
