Watch Crazy Chase Between Mo. Police, 70-Foot Mobile Home

Dec. 4, 2023
“He was hauling this big old house. He was traveling all over the roadway," said an Excelsior Springs sergeant about officers' pursuit of a truck towing a mobile home behind it.

Missouri police were caught in a crazy chase last month involving a 70-foot mobile home.

The pursuit happened Nov. 23 when Excelsior Springs police officers tried to stop a truck that was pulling a mobile home and traveling about 30 mph, KOAM-TV reports. The driver wouldn't stop and tried to flee.

“He was hauling this big old house. He was traveling all over the roadway,” said Sgt. Kyle Craven on the video of the chase. “We thought he might have been drunk.”

Officers continued to try to stop the truck and mobile home during the chase but were unsuccessful. The truck finally drove into a culvert while trying to make a left turn.

“We were chasing him real fast down the road,” said Craven. “One of my officers didn’t spike strip him fast enough, and we chased him. He went off the roadway and jacked up his truck, jacked up his trailer.”

No one was injured in the crash, and the driver was arrested.

"(I)t's not every day that officers find themselves in a pursuit with a house!" the department stated on social media.
