BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Fleetio announced the open beta launch of its AI-driven Service Advisor at Work Truck Week, introducing a tool designed to help fleet managers review and approve high volumes of repairs with greater speed and consistency.

The company said early results show assets spend 16% fewer hours in repair shops when Service Advisor is used to guide maintenance decisions, a shift that may help public safety fleets reduce downtime and return vehicles to service more quickly.

Fleet maintenance costs remain a primary concern for agencies and organizations managing vehicle operations. According to Fleetio, data from its 2026 benchmark report identifies cost escalation as the top issue facing fleet leaders. The Service Advisor tool is intended to address that challenge by helping managers reduce unnecessary spending while maintaining operational readiness.

Service Advisor analyzes repair orders using historical fleet data, assigns issue priority levels, and provides recommendations within Fleetio’s Maintenance Shop Network. “Before Smart Uploads, entering invoices could take me 20 minutes each, especially multi-page invoices with detailed line items," Arnecke said. "Now I just drag and drop the invoice, and it automatically itemizes everything, adds notes, and even finds the vendor. I’m saving six to eight hours a week, easily."

Fleetio CTO Jorge Valdivia said the new capability is designed to support, rather than replace, human decision-making as fleet operations scale.

"We built Service Advisor to strengthen human judgment as fleet operations scale across assets, shops, and locations," Valdivia said. "Because Fleetio sits at the center of the maintenance workflow, from issue to repair to outcome, we’re able to bring the right context forward, apply standards consistently, and automate much of the coordination work that traditionally slows fleets down."

Fleetio said current customers can access Service Advisor through an open beta by enabling the feature in platform settings.
