One of the biggest challenges any law enforcement professional faces is self-improvement while working rotating shifts. Between sleeping during different parts of the day, spending time with family, and handling personal duties/chores, making time for classes on any type of schedule is difficult at best. In answer to this challenge, Officer Media Group has launched the Officer Virtual Academy (OVA).
Common Weapons Familiarization is the newest course offered through the Officer Virtual Academy. This course offers an overview of common firearm types officers might encounter in the course of their duties. Revolvers, semi-automatic pistols, shotguns, semi-automatic rifles, lever action rifles and bolt action rifles are covered.
A PowerPoint slide show that corresponds to the training video is included with the course. The total viewing time for the video is about 20 minutes. For viewer’s reference there is also a downloadable PDF version of the PowerPoint presentation, perfect for use in taking notes. A course syllabus and extra reading resources are also included in the training materials.
