New Officer Virtual Academy Course: Active Shooter Scene & Response Management

May 6, 2022
The new course offered in the Officer Virtual Academy is an overview of managing the incident scene, the post response staffing and related rally points necessary after an active shooter event.

This is a virtual course, offered online only and available to registered users of the Officer Virtual Academy at all times. This supervisory and command level course focuses on active shooter scene and response management. It's meant to give an overview of managing the incident scene, the post response staffing and related rally points necessary after an active shooter event.

This course of instruction reviews some of the management and supervisor concerns not usually addressed in active shooter response courses. While active shooter events can occur at any location, this course focuses on schools.

Course objectives include:

  • Upon completion, the student officer will be able to identify other locations of concern beyond the immediate crime scene(s)
  • Upon completion, the student officer will be able to identify options for managing self-dispatched responding officers
  • Upon completion, the student officer will be able to identify options for needed command, supervisory or management level staff for complete scene(s) management

To take the course, go to the Officer Virtual Academy. And check out the other available courses.
