MSAB, a leader in mobile forensic technology, has launched online training courses in mobile forensics to complement its traditional classroom training and make training available to more users. Students will now be able to take both self-paced and instructor-led online training.

“This adds a convenient and affordable new method of training for both customers and non-customers,” said James “Ike” Eichbaum, who heads MSAB’s global Training Department.

"Many mobile forensic analysts and investigators are required to maintain their certifications in the use of forensic tools like XRY and XAMN. But it can be difficult to find the funds necessary or take time away from work in order to travel to training to get re-certified with courses they need,” said Eichbaum. “Adding these two online options expands their choices and makes it easier to take training when, where and how they want it. Mobile technology is ever-changing and this provides our customers with more ways to stay up to date with the latest information and techniques.”

The first online training course being offered is:

  • XAMN Spotlight Certification

Registration is now open.

Additional new courses will be added in the next few months, including XRY Recertification and XRY Cloud. More courses will follow. For more information and a schedule of courses, visit: www.msab.com/training

The instructor-led online courses will be taught by the same trainers who lead MSAB’s classroom training, and the MSAB trainers have created the content for the self-paced online courses, based on proven content and methods. With years of hands-on experience as investigators and forensic practitioners, MSAB’s trainers understand the needs of their students and incorporate real-world exercises into every course. Students will learn how to use XRY to unlock, decode and extract data from mobile devices, and use the analysis functionality of XAMN products like Spotlight, Horizon, and Elements.
