Aug. 16--A Myrtle Beach taxi cab driver drove three people to the police department and officers arrested the couple on domestic violence charges after they fought inside the cab, according to a police report.

Ronald Lee Viar, 32, of Crozet, Va., and Wendy Lisa Cantrell, 33, of Charlottesville, Va., were each charged with criminal domestic violence after the incident at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

The driver told officers he picked up the couple along with Cantrell's sister and during the ride Viar and Cantrell argued with each other, according to the report. The driver said Viar grabbed Cantrell by the hair and both started swinging their fists at each other.

The driver said he tried to break them up, but couldn't so he drove to the police department, according to the report. An officer reported that the taxi cab drove into the back parking lot blowing his horn and when the officer approached a man jumped and ran from the taxi.

The officer ordered the man to return to the taxi and the man did so, but yelled at the driver, according to the report. The driver told police he wanted the couple and other woman out of his cab.

Officers also charged Viar with public intoxication, simple possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after 3.5 grams of marijuana was found on him during a search, according to the report.
