Holder Touts Partnership With L.E.
Also during the First General Assembly, outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder talked about what the DOJ is doing to work with L.E. agencies to keep them prepared, safe and out of the national spotlight.
Lt. Alexander Eastman, Deputy Medical Director of the Dallas Police Department and Lead Medical Officer of its SWAT Team, spoke during an educational session about how his department has dealt with Ebola, and what other law enforcement agencies can do to be prepared.
Madeline Neumann, the National President of Concerns of Police Survivors, spoke to attendees about the importance of death notifications and what need to do when faced with delivering tragic news.
Reducing Traffic Deaths, Injuries
During an educational session, researchers and police officials focused on what can be done to buck the trend of officer-involved traffic incidents and reduce the number of deaths.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Commander Scott Edson and Nick Namikas, Co-CEO at CitizenGlobal, spoke about the new digital data collection platform called LEEDIR (short for Large Emergency Event Digital Information Repository), and how it is helping resolve bandwidth and storage issues during large-scale investigations.
NowForce Aims to Enhance Law Enforcement Dispatch
NowForce Law Enforcement, which is aimed at changing the way information is sent to dispatch centers, was unveiled at the conference.
