An NYPD officer was slashed by a suspect in a Brooklyn subway station Sunday.
The incident happened shortly after 11:15 a.m. as the officer was responding to calls of someone needing help at a subway station in the Bedford-Stuyversant neighborhood, WNBC-TV reports. When the officer approached the person who reported needed help, he was attacked and slashed on the ear.
The officer was taken to the hospital following the assault, and he needed multiple stitches. The suspect was taken into custody.
