Boston Police Officer Stabbed in Neck During Call

A suspect was fatally shot after he stabbed a Boston police officer in the neck during a domestic disturbance call in the city's Dorchester neighborhood.

The Boston police officer who was stabbed Saturday while responding to a domestic violence call in Dorchester is expected to recover, authorities said Sunday morning.

The officer, who has not been named publicly, responded to the domestic call at 27 Ingleside St. on Saturday around 6:15 p.m. when he was stabbed in the neck, a police spokesman said.

The suspect was fatally shot by another officer.

Authorities said the suspect and officer were both rushed to area hospitals. The suspect, who also has not been named publicly, was later pronounced dead.

The officer has serious injuries but is expected to recover, police said.

WBZ reports that a knife was recovered at the scene.

The Suffolk District Attorney’s Office is investigation the incident.
