Watch Dramatic Chase Between Calif. Police, Accused Car Thieves

A high-speed pursuit of three suspects in a stolen vehicle began in Santa Ana and ended with one of the suspects jumped into the Los Angeles River near Rio de Los Angeles State Park.

California police officers were involved in a high-speed chase of a stolen vehicle Wednesday that ended with one suspect trying to escape by jumping in the river.

The pursuit began in Santa Ana and extended from Orange County into Los Angeles County, KTTV-TV reports. It ended in the Atwater Village of Los Angeles, where three suspects tried to flee on foot.

During the foot chase, one of the suspects tried to escape by jumping into the Los Angeles River near Rio de Los Angeles State Park. Police eventually apprehended the three suspects.
