Las Vegas Police Officer Shot After Man Chases Woman With Blowtorch

“The call was then upgraded when the female started that she had been shot,” Seely said. “LVMPD officers arrived and based on the circumstances and details, immediately made entry into the residence.”
Inside the residence, police found the suspect, who opened fire and struck a Metro officer, who was taken to University Medical Center where her condition has stabilized, Seely said.
Other officers backed out of the residence and a barricade situation was declared, Seely said. SWAT and crisis negotiators entered the home a short time later and found a the suspect and a girl suffering from gunshot wounds. Both died at the scene.
The woman who reported the call was being evaluated for minor injuries, Seely said.
Last week, Metro officer Austin Abdelnabi died after he was hit by multiple gunshots fired by an armed suspect in a gunbattle in east Las Vegas.
