Body camera footage shows Lee County sheriff's deputies taking a murder suspect into custody Thursday after an hourslong barricade standoff that began when Florida Highway Patrol troopers stopped his vehicle on Interstate 75.

  • A Las Vegas police officer responding to a report of a fight at a Walmart arrived seconds after gunfire erupted and immediately confronted an armed suspect leaving the store.

Body camera footage captured Florida authorities arresting a murder inspect following an hourslong barricade standoff along an interstate last week.

Ladavion King, 43, is accused of killing Natasha Moses, a 47-year-old St. Petersburg city employee, WBBH-TV reports. Moses was fatally shot Wednesday while she sat inside a work vehicle.

On Thursday, Florida Highway Patrol received a BOLO alert about King, and they tried to pull over his vehicle on Interstate 75. King fled, but troopers performed a PIT maneuver stop his truck.

A barricade situation ensued following the PIT maneuver, and Lee County sheriff's deputies were called in to help, accoridng to the sheriff's office. The agency's Special Operations Unit, Crisis Negotiation Team, Advanced Technology Support Unit and K-9 unit responded to the call.

"When our law enforcement partners call, we will ALWAYS answer," Sheriff Carmine Marceno stated in a social media post. "Safety is a team effort, and I am incredibly proud of our deputies who are always ready to respond whenever and wherever they're needed."

Shots were fired and struck King's windshield during the standoff, which lasted hours. Finally, law enforcement was able to establish contact with the suspect and apprehend him, according to Marceno.

King suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital. No deputies or troopers were injured during the incident.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the incident.
