Salt Lake City Police in Standoff With Shooting Suspect

Police believed the suspected shooter was still in the home and were trying to contact him.

Salt Lake City police were surrounding a home on 600 East near 1500 South Sunday night after a shooting.

A man was shot around 8:30 p.m. and sent to a hospital in critical condition, said Salt Lake City police Sgt. Shawn Josephson. The victim, the suspect and another man are roommates, Josephson said. One roommate pulled the victim out of the home.

Police believed the suspected shooter was still in the home and were trying to contact him, he said.
