California Knives offers a custom, handmade, assisted-opening knife called the Roll-Lock California Auto. The Roll-Lock comes with a 3 1/2-inch blade made of 440C, while the scales and spine are made of durable Zytel. The auto mechanism is a positive roll wheel in the handle that locks the blade in the open and/or closed position. When you roll the wheel forward, the blade comes out with considerable force and authority due to the heavy-duty lifetime eight-coil spring that is fully supported by the bushing and a spring support boss cast right into the handle.
