Pennsylvania State Police Select ASP Triad USB as New Duty Issue Light

Dec. 16, 2014
Armament Systems and Procedures announced that the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) has selected the ASP Triad USB as the agency's new department issue flashlight.

Armament Systems and Procedures (ASP), one of the leading manufacturers of law enforcement lighting products, announced today that the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) has selected the ASP Triad USB as the agency's new department issue flashlight.  Also selected was the ASP Tactical Light Case (TLC).  All 4,677 troopers of the Pennsylvania agency will be issued the light and case.

The PSP conducted tests on a large number of rechargeable lights during a two year evaluation program.  After extensive field trials, the ASP Triad USB was selected for issue.  Dual Fuel Technology, brightness, run time, compact size and ease of charging contributed to the decision.

In commenting on the selection, ASP CEO Kevin Parsons, PhD, said, "We are extremely pleased that one of the largest and most respected law enforcement agencies in the nation has selected the Triad USB after such an extensive evaluation."

Triad USB lights produce a brilliant 300 lumens as measured against the ANSI FL-1 Standard and have a continuous run time of three hours.  The micro USB charge port allows the light to be charged using a standard outlet, car charger, computer or any micro USB cell phone charger.  The Dual Fuel Technology of the Triad USB allows it to also be powered by two CR123A batteries.

The Tactical Light Case (TLC) rotates to 12 distinct positions.  The lens down carry protects the light, speeds presentation and permits hands free carry.  It easily adjusts to fit all belt sizes and can be worn with MOLLE gear.

The Pennsylvania State Police is headquartered in Harrisburg (PA).  The 4,800 Triad USB lights and TLCs were delivered this fall.

ASP will unveil its new Tactical Flashlight Training as part of the integrated training course with the PSP.  This newly developed curriculum will ultimately be incorporated into ASP Training around the world.  ASP currently provides free Baton and Handcuff Training to law enforcement professionals worldwide.
