PARKLAND, Washington -- A Pierce County Sheriff’s Office deputy rescued an injured mail truck driver from a burning vehicle following a two-vehicle collision in Parkland, Washington, according to the agency.

The deputy pulled the driver away from the burning vehicle and then attempted to extinguish the fire with assistance from a bystander.

A back-seat passenger in the sedan sustained serious injuries. The male driver of the mail truck and the male back-seat passenger of the sedan were both transported to local hospitals and were reported to be in serious condition.
