Officer Stabbed in the Neck at Mich. Airport

Bishop Airport Police Lt. Jeff Neville was listed in critical condition after being attacked Wednesday.

A police officer was critically wounded after being attacked at Bishop Airport in Flint, Michigan Wednesday morning.

Airport Police Lt. Jeff Neville was stabbed in the neck and was listed in stable condition, according to MLive.com.

Genesee County Commissioner Mark Young, a close friend of the officer's who worked with him at the Sheriff's Department, called him "an honorable man."

He met with Neville's at the hospital today after the attack.  "As expected, they are shook up. They are concerned," he said.

A witness told the news outlet that he saw a man detained near a knife and an officer on his knees and bleeding from the neck

The Bishop Airport posted an alert on its Facebook page saying the airport has been evacuated and that no passengers have been injured.

People scheduled to fly from Bishop Airport today are being asked to contact their airline for potential cancellations or delays.

The FBI is currently investigating the incident, and Michigan State Police posted a tweet telling people to, "Please keep the officer in your prayers."
