A year after a fatal police-involved shooting in Buckeye, Arizona, police have released body camera footage of the incident.
Police responded to a home on June 25, 2016 near Riata Parkway and Wayland Drive after receiving reports from a relative that William Ferguson shot and killed his wife, according to KNXV-TV.
When officers arrived to the neighborhood, the suspect drove up to them in a white Dodge pickup truck and exited the vehicle before firing several rounds.
The body camera video shows two officers take cover behind a patrol car as Ferguson shoots at them. A third officer respond to the scene and opened fire on Ferguson, striking him in the shoulder.
Officials said that Ferguson took his own life just moments later and that his wife, Breanne Ferguson, was found dead inside a nearby home. Two young children were also found inside unharmed.
The Maricopa County Attorney's Office Shooting Review Board ruled last month that the fatal shooting was justified.
The body camera footage wasn't released until this Thursday because the Maricopa County Attorney's Office requested that it not be distributed until the case had been resolved.
