JOPPA, Maryland -- The family of Patrick Dailey on Sunday met the Maryland State Police bloodhound puppy that was named after the slain Harford County Sheriff's deputy, the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company said.

Trooper Richard Kelly, the pup's handler, brought "Dailey" to the JMVFC Edgewood Station to meet Bryan and Tyler Dailey and Aimee Grebe.

"Dailey" will be trained as a tracking dog to search for missing people and assist in police investigations, officials said.

Dailey and Deputy First Class Mark Logsdon were killed on duty in a shooting Feb. 10 in Abingdon. The suspected gunman was killed in return fire with sheriff's deputies.
