One person was killed and three others were wounded in a shooting on the campus of Northern Arizona University early Friday morning.

One person was killed and three others were wounded in a shooting on the campus of Northern Arizona University early Friday morning.

Police officials said that the suspected gunman was taken into custody following the shooting and that the campus is not on lockdown.

The incident took place outside Mountain View Hall on the northeast end of the Flagstaff Campus with the first report of shots fired being made at 1:20 a.m.

All three victims were transported to Flagstaff Medical Center where they were treated for injuries. Details on their conditions were not provided.

The Northern Arizona University Police Department is currently conducting an investigation with the Flagstaff Police Department assisting.

The university has scheduled a news conference on the shooting for Friday morning.
