Two suspects are in custody in the shooting of a Las Vegas police officer that trigger a manhunt early Friday morning.
Officers responded to a burglary call shortly before 4 a.m. in the 6700 block of Oveja Circle when they encountered the suspects in the backyard, according to KTNV-TV.
During the confrontation, a police officer was shot and the suspects attempted to flee the scene. One man was taken into custody, but a manhunt was launched for the second man.
The manhunt ended around 7:30 after the second suspect was taken into custody.
The veteran police officer injured in the shooting was transported to University Medical Center where he underwent surgery and was listed in stable condition.
Sheriff Joseph Lombardo told the news station that the officer -- whose wife is currently pregnant -- is expected to make a full recovery.
