Baltimore Police officials report that close to 100 officers have been injured since violent protests broke out in the city Monday night.

Protesters have been throwing bricks, bottles and other items at officers during demonstrations following the death of Freddie Gray, a black man who was injured in police custody and later died, according to WRC-TV

Capt. Eric Kowalczyk said Thursday afternoon that more than 40 officers required some sort of treatment at the hospital.

More than 200 people were arrested during the riots and since then, more than half have been released without charges. Police are reviewing surveillance footage and expect to charge many of those people once their identities have been confirmed.

Police say nearly a dozen people were arrested Wednesday night after the 10 p.m. curfew.
