Fort Worth police said Sunday they are still searching for a person who opened fire at a park Saturday during a large gathering and injured several people.

A child, a Fort Worth police officer and two women were injured during the shooting at the Stop Six Park at 9:10 p.m., Fort Worth police said in a news release.

Police said there was a planned event at the historic park at 5200 East Rosedale St.

Police said to the east of the park there's a business strip center, and to the east of the strip center is an apartment building. A suspect dressed in all black was seen coming around the corner between the apartments and the strip center when they opened fire in the direction of the gathering, police said.

The shooter then ran away toward the apartment building, police said.

A woman was struck in the head during the shooting, police said. She was taken to a local hospital and was last known to be in critical condition, police said in the news release Sunday morning.

A nearby Fort Worth officer was injured during the shooting, police said. The officer was sitting in his parked patrol vehicle along the street in the direction of the gunfire. Police said a bullet went through the officer's windshield, and shrapnel struck the officer in the neck.

The officer was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police also said a child's head was grazed by a bullet and an elderly woman was shot in the hip. Both arrived at local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

As of Sunday morning, police said no one has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

The Stop Six Park was acquired in 1969 to provide parkland for the African-American community in east Fort Worth, according to the city's parks and recreation site.
