Off-Duty Texas Deputy Constable Shot, Killed Inside Car on Way Home

An off-duty Harris County deputy constable was fatally shot inside his car Sunday night in Atascocita, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

The 37-year-old was returning home from picking up food for his family in his dark-colored Ford Focus when someone fired multiple shots at him in the 11900 block of Madera Run Parkway near Timber Forest.

Harris County Sheriff's Office investigators were on the scene around 8:30 p.m. The deputy was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead, according to Gonzalez.
