North Haven, CT – Mossberg continues to expand and update its line of MVP Series AR-compatible, bolt-action rifles. For 2018, the MVP LC rifle series has been relaunched and is now available at a lower suggested retail price of $1,050. Housed in a lightweight, tan-finished aluminum MDT® chassis, these versatile bolt-action target rifles, chambered in 6.5mm Creedmoor, 5.56mm NATO (223 Rem) and 7.62mm NATO (308 Win), accept and reliably-feed from AR-style magazines; feature Magpul® CTR® adjustable stock, MOE® grip and 10-round P-Mag®; and are designed to be easily customized with the accessories of your choice.
Engineered with accuracy in mind, the durable aluminum light chassis stock provides a modular, ergonomic base that only makes contact with the receiver on the V-shaped bedding and recoil lug areas. The chassis’ forearm features mounting slots for the addition of railed accessories. The medium bull, fluted barrels are free-floating and are threaded (5/8”- 24 threads per inch) for the convenience of adding a suppressor or muzzle brake. Protective thread cap is included. The barrels, constructed of carbon steel, are button-rifled with 20-inch barrel length and 1:8 twist rate in the 6.5mm Creedmoor chambering; 18.5-inch barrel length and 1:10 twist rate in 7.62mm NATO (308 Win); and the 5.56mm NATO (223 Rem) offering features a 16.25-inch length and 1:7 twist rate. And complementing the tan-finish of the chassis is a matte blue finish on the barrel.
Driving accuracy on the MVP LC rifle is Mossberg’s Lightning Bolt Action™ (LBA™) Trigger System that delivers a crisp, creep-free trigger pull and is user-adjustable from 3 to 7 pounds. Machined from aircraft-grade aluminum and hard-coat anodized to military spec, preventing corrosion and minimizing wear, the LBA trigger system delivers the utmost in reliability and durability for consistent shot placement. Additional features include spiral fluted bolt; oversized tactical-style bolt handle; Picatinny top rail for ease of adding sight systems; and chassis-mounted sling swivel stud. The MVP LC rifles come standard with one Magpul P-Mag 10-round magazine, but with the patented design of the MVP, aftermarket magazines are compatible (AR15-style for the 5.56mm NATO and AR10/SR25 for the 6.5mm Creedmoor and 7.62mm NATO).
Completing the MVP LC package are Magpul’s CTR adjustable, length-of-pull (LOP) stock and MOE pistol grip. The CTR adjustable, black polymer stock is designed for light, fast action with its streamlined, A-frame profile. The Mil-Spec design also features a friction-lock system that minimizes excessive stock movement. An ambidextrous QD sling mount, rubber recoil pad and interchangeable height adjustment combs (3 included) add to the versatility of this stock. The black polymer MOE pistol grip has an ergonomic, hand-filling design combined with anti-slip texturing for comfort and includes a handy storage core.
Designed for shot-after-shot consistency, the Mossberg MVP LC rifle with MDT light chassis, Magpul accessories and user-friendly customization raises the bar for lightweight, custom-style target rifles. See your local Mossberg dealer today or visit www.mossberg.com for more details.
