A 13-year-old boy and 41-year-old woman were killed by gunfire Saturday night, and 10 others were wounded between about 9:30 and 11 p.m., police said.

April 08--A 13-year-old boy and 41-year-old woman were killed by gunfire Saturday night, and 10 others were wounded between about 9:30 and 11 p.m., police said.

The 13-year-old was among three people shot on the 4600 block of South Spaulding Avenue just before 10 p.m., police said.

He was shot in the head and body and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The other two -- a 15-year-old boy shot in the forearm and thigh and a 15-year-old boy shot in the arm -- were taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, police said.

The three were sitting on a porch when two others emerged from a gangway nearby and started shooting at the trio, police said. The pair ran back the way they came and are not in custody, police said.

A 41-year-old woman was killed on the 300 block of West 108th Street about 11 p.m., police said.

She was standing on a porch with several other people when someone on foot shot her in the head, police said.

She was taken to Roseland Hospital and pronounced dead there, police said.

At 12:15 a.m. Sunday morning, two men were shot while they were driving down an alley behind the 3800 block of South Sacramento Avenue, police said.

The shots came from a nearby minivan, police said. A 23-year-old was shot in the hand and arm and a 32-year-old was shot in the arm, police said.

Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.

About 10:45 p.m., a 24-year-old man standing next to a car was shot in the chest on the 2500 block of West 51st Street. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Fifteen minutes earlier, a man was shot in the leg near the intersection of North and Kimball avenues, police said.

He walked into Stroger hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg, police said.

At 10:23 p.m., a 14-year-old boy was shot in the leg on the 6500 block of South Union Avenue in the Englewood neighborhood, police said.

He was walking in an alley with friends when they heard gunfire and the boy was shot in the thigh, police said.

He was taken to Comer Children's Hospital and is expected to be treated for his wound and released, police said.

About 9:50 p.m., a 44-year-old man was shot in the chest on the 8600 block of South Escanaba Avenue in the South Chicago neighborhood, Gaines said.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said.

About a half hour earlier, two men were shot on the 7400 block of North Sheridan Road in Rogers Park, police said.

Both of the men were standing on the street when they were shot and taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston with gunshot wounds, police said.

One man, 31, was shot in the foot and the other, 25, was shot in the back.
