Body Camera Video Shows LAPD Officer Rescue Disabled Man From Burning Vehicle

LOS ANGELES -- The LAPD on Monday released body camera video of a police officer pulling a wheelchair-bound man from a burning vehicle last week.

Officers with the Foothill Division in the San Fernando Valley was on patrol Friday evening when he noticed smoke coming from a stopped car, according to a news release.

The driver was able to exit the vehicle on his own, but a disabled man in the passenger side of the vehicle had to be pulled out as the smoke became worse. Moments later, the vehicle became engulfed in flames.

While the wheelchair was lost in the fire, officials said that it was quickly replaced by an officer’s donation.

When asked, the officers had few words, saying: "just doing our job."
