Joint Service Agent Water Monitor

Aug. 20, 2007
Edgewood Chemical Biological Center has developed a hand-held microarray that is capable of detecting up to four biological agents in a water sample on one test strip. The Joint Service Agent Water Monitor (JSAWM) can be used by military personnel and civilian authorities that need to quickly identify safe water sources. This new microarray is smaller and lighter than standard test tickets, and can test untreated water, including tap water. It also effectively reduces cross reactivity, which can lead to poor test results.
