SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Building Protection Systems, Inc. (BPSI), the developers of the first complete next-generation Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) detection system to actively and reliably protect critical facilities and buildings, announced today that their technology has been selected by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as part of a $250M small business award. BPSI's partner, Trofholz Technologies, Inc. (TTI), has been awarded a contract to provide electronic security systems for the U.S. Army Corps. As part of TTI's contract, BPSI will provide its U.S. Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act designated Sentry One™ system for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear contaminate detection. This $250 million indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract is a three-year award with a two-year option.

BPSI's Sentry One Technology was deemed a "designated technology" in June 2008, according to the U.S. SAFETY (Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies) Act of 2002.
