Quickchat: Force Multiplier: Accelerating Investigations and Increasing Case Clearance Rate with AI

Join us for this Officer quickchat as Editorial Director, Frank Borelli, checks in with Jon Gacek, SVP & GM of Veritone's Public Sector Business Unit.

In today’s day and age, given all of the factors impacting the law enforcement workload, too many agencies aren’t leveraging the full power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how it can help manage evidence for investigations. In this video segment, Editorial Director Frank Borelli (LT, ret) interviews Mr. Jon Gacek, the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Veritone’s Public Sector Business Unit. Mr. Gacek offers strong insight into how Veritone’s products save time. One of the biggest challenges can be aggregating video and analyzing it for images of evidentiary value. For example, if you have a burglary and you have 12 hours of video, all containing potential evidence, someone must watch that 12 hours of video. That 12 hours of video might be on multiple systems, in multiple formats and from different sources. Properly leveraging the power of AI, that video can be “watched” by the AI and the human responsible for watching and analyzing the video can be directed to the proper segment and time to see what the human is looking for.

One real world example given by Mr. Gacek involved 30+ hours of video that was examined by the AI in less than five minutes. The AI was able to find and identify an individual wearing particular clothing and alert the human investigator to the video and timeline.

Such investigative power without the previously attached manhours can prove a strong tool for not only closing cases but reducing the negative impact of manpower shortages too many agencies are experiencing today.

At just about 24 minutes in length, the interview offers high value in AI tools information as well as how those strengths have a positive impact for any agency beyond the investigative value and case closure. We encourage you to invest the 24 minutes of your time to learn how you might save tens, hundreds or thousands of manhours.
