Fort Worth police rescued a child from water near Dream Park on Friday afternoon, according to a Facebook post from the police department.
Officers initially responded to a report of a missing child at the park, and noticed something yellow sticking up from weeds near the water while they were searching, according to the post.
As police approached, the child “appeared disoriented” and started moving farther into the water, officials said. At times, the child even went below the surface.
One officer entered the water at that point and pulled the child out safely, video of the incident shows. The child was evaluated by paramedics and is safe, according to the post.
“This is a reminder that sometimes the difference between tragedy and relief is measured in seconds,” the post reads.
