Houston Police were called to William P. Hobby Airport early Wednesday after a person reportedly tried to breach the cockpit on a Delta flight, according to the police department.

Police said they received a call around 5:38 a.m. regarding the incident.

Houston Airports confirmed the incident in a statement.

"At approximately 5:40 AM, a Delta Airlines aircraft returned to HOU for an incident that resulted in a Houston Police Dept. response," a spokesperson said in an email.

Authorities said a suspect has been taken into custody. KTRK reported that a Delta plane could be seen parked at Gate 32, surrounded by police cars.
