Watch Fla. Police Officer Save 2-Year-Old Girl Suffering Seizure

A family's doorbell camera captured West Miami Police Officer Anthony Suardiaz's quick actions to save a young girl who became unresponsive after suffering a seizure.

A Florida family celebrated a special Christmas this year after a police officer help save a 2-year-old girl suffering a seizure over the weekend.

The frightening incident happened at around 5 a.m. Saturday when West Miami Police Officer Anthony Suardiaz responded to a 9-1-1 call concerning a girl suffering a medical emergency, WTVJ-TV reports. Suardiaz reached the scene before paramedics, and he found that the child could not talk, and her eyes were in the back of her head.

“I saw the parents run out to me, like scared," the officer said. "They were frantically screaming, ‘My baby doesn’t breathe, she’s not responding to me.’”

Suardiaz quickly leaned on his training from the police academy and as a lifeguard. He began patting the girl's back while holding her, and his quick actions were capture on the family's doorbell camera.

"It took me about, I’d say, two-and-a-half minutes to get the baby to respond and start crying and that’s when I kind of got this relief, of like, she’s fine,” said Suardiaz.

The girl's were extremely thankful for Suardiaz fast response, and the child's father called him "a very, very sharp young man."

“It was an awesome experience. I don’t think I’m ever going to forget this,” said Suardiaz.
